I have to replace my older wood stove with a newer model according to my insurance company. They say it has to be UL approved. There are many nice stoves out there that are used. How do I know if I am getting the right one? Help

DO NOT buy a stove that does not have a DATA TAG attached to it! look on the data tag for teh UL listing (should be listed to UL-1482 which is the standard for woodstoves

a model that was UL approved when built is ONLY UL aproved as long as that data tag is still affixed to the stove , if the tag is removed it loses its UL listing

Been using my portage and Main optimizer 250 gasifier stove and keeps my 4500 square-foot house warm no problem. takes a little bit of getting used to but works very well and the fire tube design has been around for hundreds of years
