Good deal?

Well, you got $25 in pellets, $100 for a vent if it is usable. So $350 for a stove? In my limited experience with the older Whitfields, they were very easy to use and work on. Its like when you could open the hood of your car and see the sparkplugs. I'd show up fast with $400 cash and pay it if it ran with no drama.

Nice looking stove, that will be snapped up by someone for sure at that price.

If it's still there, I think you should grab it ASAP. No telling whether that's a current photo but Whitfield's were on my short list when I was looking, lots of happy owners.

I'm sure someone here can tell you specifics on that stove. But in the meantime, if the seller can demonstrate normal startup, basic adjustments and normal shutdown then you are probably good to go. At some point you take a chance - for example maybe it mysteriously shuts down after an hour or so. You wouldn't be able to know that just with a quick demo. Take some of the money you save on the stove and install a great, no-compromise vent system. That's one way to avoid a lot of problems before they ever begin.
