All,

I have an Accentra Insert. Went away for a few days and left the duties to the wife and kids. When I returned I noticed that the hopper lid will now only open about 1/3 of the way and does not stay open. I can imagine that the lid mechanism might have gotten bent or something. Any ideas or best practices on next steps? Is it now time to replace the hinge/springs, etc?

BTW: Love the accentra.. have had it for 6 years now and with regular cleaning, maintenance, it does its job.

Thanks MK

My hunch is that a pellet is stuck in the hinge somewhere.

Bent hinge somewhere..keeping it from fully opening

It seems located precisely to collect pellets when loading, so far no problems for me but I'm often surprised that the lid will CLOSE.

Update: It was both... There was a pellet stuck under the metal hinge.. I was able to remove it, but also noticed the hinge was still slightly bent. Got the old pliers out and bent it slightly back and now it opens and closes properly. Going to replace the hinge with a newer one, but for now it works.. Thanks everyone.
