Probably is pellets dropping, into the auger assembly. You'll get used to it..

Better yet we might need a YouTube video. Mine makes the sound of dropping pellets too.

Yes. That "tinkle" sound is part of the stove feeding BUT the OP made it sound abnormal so . . . . if it happens during a burn it's fine. Is there a problem at other times?

It was abnormal to me at first, dealer said it was normal. When the auger turns it opens the slider which drops the pellets into the auger assembly..

There is a chute that the pellets drop thru before they get to the auger. You probably hear the pellets dropping into the chute (it isn't a continuous flow). Nothing to worry about unless the stove is off and not supposed to be feeding.

thanx all for the help............
It is what it is. Had mine seven years. It's a beast. Cost me a whole 78 bucks in parts in that time and runs like a champ. Sorry you don't like the sound of pellets dropping but that's what you hear at times.

Probably going to catch $#ll for this but probably get a thread going of "what sounds are not good coming from a Harman"
Screaming screeching of the auger with carbon build up. The muted drone of a V1 buzz bomb when on a high fire.

Or any stove. . . .

Listening to pellets dropping from my St. Croix as I type this - why shouldn't my Harman make the same pellet-dropping noise?

I thought this was going to be a joke. Of course you hear pellets dropping

My 2 Harman's make the same sound as dropping coins in a piggy bank, is that normal?;)

That's the pleasant sound of the money you are saving by not burning oil....

While I have your undivided attention....have you ever run out of pellets with pellets till in the hopper...noticed this am i could see the feed box as the pellets were still on the sides.....i didn't wait to see what would happen so I added more pellets......I'm guessing eventually the pellets would all slide in but.....I'm curious.....

I've never let it get that low. Fill it twice a day. Others have used various methods to smooth the hopper sides to improve drop. Several recent threads on the subject. I've never felt it worth the effort.

I run all my pellets down a slanted screen to remove the sawdust. without the sawdust they roll and slide easily down the hopper.
