Out of curiousity, has anyone ever improved upon the air wash system of an older (pre 2008) Harman Accentra?

Or has anyone just plain removed the stainless steel air wash tube and put a small steel (gasketed) plate on the back stove wall, thus doing away with the air wash entirely and then resorted to cleaning the glass by hand?

I ask this because I love the ridgid steel tubes used to air wash the other models..P43, P38 etc..., but the Accentras air wash tube is a pain to clean around and I learned the hard way that its siliconed and not meant to be removed....but what a pain it is, especially if the inside gets stuck with dust...etc

Sorry no one got back to you - maybe a bump will catch some eyes...

I have no fix for this...but know that all who own the Accentra FS struggle with the same demon. If I had a nickle for every time I bashed my fingers trying to get that combustion plate out I'd have........a lot of nickles.
