Has anybody made their own? I've been reading on the Rocket stove sites of the mix they are using (1 parts fiber reinforced cement to 6 parts Vermiculite) and will probably try that mix this spring as my baffle board has developed a hairline crack in it and probably needs replacing before next season. Just looking to see if anyone has tried to make their own and have suggestions. Thanks

Has anyone tried sodium silicate as a binder and perlite/vermiculite as the insulating material and clay/sand for rigidity? I can try this recipe in the summer, but if anyone has a proven recipe, I can use it as a starting point.
