I think you got the new version. Mine does not have the calibration cap. I think that is an important feature. I am trying to find your model but no luck. All the meters I find that have calibration are a couple hundred bucks

Where did you get yours? I cannot find that model at all.

picked it up at lowes maybe a week before christmas for around $25 no way the wife would let me shell out a couple hundred for a moisture meter

OK found some kiln dried wood. Going to pick up a face cord on Saturday. Suppose to be between 10 to 15 percent. With this being that dry is there any recommendations on burning it?

Hamsey, I noticed in the pictures you uploaded that you load your wood "east to west" or parallel with the door. Try a load with the logs north south or perpendicular to the door. I have a hearthstone mansfield and when I first got it I loaded it east west and had the same issued and couldn't figure it out. I tried a load north south and my problem was solved, no more coals and complete burns. Hope this helps.

Couple hundred? I picked mine up from harbor freight for less than 20 dollars. It may not be the most accurate thing in the world, but as long as its within a few percent that is accurate enough for our purposes. Its not like wood that is 21 percent will not burn at all, and 20% percent will burn great. :)

Thanks for the suggestion about n/s. I have burned a few times n/s but have not in some time. Actually since the new door was installed. Will give it a go tonight and see what happens.

Agree about the MM. It would be nice to check it against another to see how accurate it is though. Really not a priority.
