Looks like White Ash bark, and a couple of those rounds have the classic pinhole in the center. I don't know if Green or Black Ash has those, but their bark is different...
I think it looks like White Ash too, not much difference between the two. I keep promising a study on Green Ash and I dont deliver. Wood wise not much different, except Green is heavier and stringier.
And it appears from what people post, the heartwood may be slightly darker on Green ash.
I should post pics soon because all my Ash trees are loaded with seeds this year and that is the single most accurate way to tell the difference between the two trees.
Ash isnt a dominant tree on my property, its possible that its not a dominant tree anywhere, but its pretty common.
Whats interesting is why White is called White and Green is called Green and Black is called black and Blue is called blue.
