Snow on the ground, xmas tree is back in the attic, and wife asked if we could have a fire. Will finish burning the 2nd bag of pellets for this season now that we have more room in the living room without the xmas tree.

BTW - I can't believe Lowes in Kingston, NY is selling crap pellets for $300 a ton and Green Team for $350 a ton. Who ever is buying this stuff you are giving the rest of us a bad name.

Those prices per ton are crazy. Our BBS have junk brands too and they are $249 - $259 a ton. Found Somersets the other day for $214 per ton. I am stocked for the season and have been but haven't even used but a ton and a half and i am only heating with pellets so far this year.

I'll take the warm weather. You can have the snow although X-mas here seemed like Florida. Weird. The warmest one I can ever remember.

300 and 350 a ton right over the bridge from me? thats insane. the box stores are selling for 259 a ton here and sitting on them. if you need them take a quick drive on 84 and order from the fishkill or wappingers home depot.

$5.18 a bag or $259 a ton here. The ton price is HD and TSC here, the bag price is HD, TSC bag price is $5.39 and they can't move them at TSC. Last I knew HD had GS and ThemaGlo. TSC has there own which are produced by Maine Woods.

Oil is $1.56 last I looked, it went up from $1.52. But the last time it went up like that two days later it took an 11 cent drop. Even so, pellets would have to be $3.90 a bag to approximate breaking even. That equates to $190 a ton.

for only $9 per ton more, I can get Okie DF from a dealer one town over from me.

I've been thinking about lighting, but why waste 30 bag's I have from last year when I just bought oil $1.38 monday, It's great not having to carry bag's, clean stove, and finally after 30 yr's of burning wood and pellet's my house is evenly heated!!

I am burning pellets because I have them and require no additional investment. I will not, however replenish my stash in the spring if the price of oil remains low and pellets high.
