Hello-

I have been lurking for awhile and reading many posts learning quite a bit. Thanks for that. I have been burning wood for about 7 years in a Tarm indoor wood boiler. I absolutely love it but would like to use my fireplace more and so now I would like to purchase a wood insert. I have been to a few dealers in CT and have looked at many different brands of inserts. Many people state that your dealer is very important when choosing your insert/stove. Can anyone give me some advice on dealers in CT? Also, when is the best time to buy? I really don't NEED the insert this year, but if I had it I would use it. Thanks in advance for any responses you can give me.
Kevin

greetings fellow CT hunter! (nice buck)

i'm going to send you a private message

Welcome, PM sent

Next month is when it starts getting good locally. Stove shops often don't want to hold onto inventory. By March it can get pretty quiet in a lot of showrooms. Preston Trading Post are good folks from what I've heard.

There is a place in Cochester called "More Than Stoves" I've heard very good things about them. Also Preston Trading Post is a very large and established dealer. Good Luck.

Thanks for the replies...anyone else?

All I can say is starting next month start watching for the sales. If you find a good dealer and stove you like tell them to call you when they have a good sale.

Normally right now we are DEAD slow but things are picking up again after a short slump. Service never slowed down. I think the early snow and cold got everyone in the fireplace mood.
