NH guys OK?

Well, I'm in Western NH, far away from the action. I have friends in Dover though. Lots of stuff going on East of here.

One of the roads to my father in laws house is covered with trees and he has tons of downed trees on his property in Epsom. My house in Loudon has some down trees in the woods but my garden and corn don't look too good. We got hit with way too much rain and wind.

got stuck in Dulles airpt last night flying back from ATL. Had to stay over and drive in the rain

pretty crazy here just shy of the NH border.....no major trees down, but have lost power a few times and the flood pump is running overtime to keep water out of the basement. So far only one fatality that I know of in NH.

nothin yet...but keeping my eyes peeled for trees downed by wind or excessive soil moisture, especially since I've been trying to get a grapple load unsuccessfully for months.

Here in Higganum Ct we did ok!2" of rain last 2 days with a few downpours but not alot of wind or damage.Rain was very welcome!It was starting to get pretty dry.

Lots of wind, Lots of rain last night.
Rivers swolen on way to work this AM- but looks like the only thing lost is my scarecrow man from the garden last night.
Still, the ground is pretty saturated, I expect more trees to fall over.

Our sump pump has been kicking on all evening. Very wet summer so far. I'm considering covering my wood piles.

We did need the rain, BAD!

Western VT we got some nasty thunderstorms, but nothing like the folks in NH. They say Epsom was actually a tornado.

But rain, oy. I've had almost 8 inches of rain in the last 48 hours. My beautifully drying wood stacks are just sodden with water and starting to fall over. Arrgggh.

Got one of those cheapo Hong Kong moisture meters through eBay, and the couple splits I checked before the deluge came out a nice 15 to 18 percent, so it was ready to go into the woodshed already.

I brought a couple of the soaked splits inside this afternoon, and figure I'll measure the moisture content and compare how long it takes them to dry out inside with the rest of the stuff sitting outside in the stacks.

We had two storms in Providence that rolled through at 8" of rain per hour. Providence got 3.5" yesterday and at least 2" today. A tornado crossed Narragansett Bay and hit Barrington RI and Swansea MA. THAT RARELY HAPPENS HERE! No more brown lawns for a while. Headin' down to the OBX tomorrow where they get real weather. Hope we don't see any of it! Cheers!

Got plenty of rain to the east in ME.......suppose to be rafting on the Kennebec River this Sat....should prove to be a nice high flow day!

Do be careful Tfin.... I rafted the Kennebec many summers ago after a big storm. In our 6 boat crew we had two broken ankles, one case of hypothermia, and the next day a fatality. That said, it was a blast (not the casualties of course)

Real wet but otherwise quiet in New Boston.....

Will do, it will be the first time for me (brother's bachelor party).

I rode through one of the hard hit areas yesterday on a big motorcycle ride. It was by the lake on rt. 4, the place they've been showing on TV a lot. Wow. You can see a definite pathway the damage took, almost like a giant touched the ground with his finger and dragged it along the ground. Good size trees, oaks, maples, whatever, just broken in half and thrown around. Scary stuff.
