Have you had any problems with your EF2? I installed this one in Sept and used occasionally until the November cold. Never having to really heat on high. After only burning under 30 bags I had a creosote buildup in the combustion fan housing that caught fire and turned the housing and first three feet of vent glowing red. The fan seized up. Have been waiting for parts for a week.
 
No, never had that problem. Sounds like your combustion air is dampened down to low causing a lousy burn.
try opening up your air damper and getting a more yellow vigorous flame rather than a orange lazy flame.
I've been burning pellets for 4-5 years , I have 3 stoves have never had a problem that serious. My Enviro EF2
can drive me out of the house on a 1/3/to 1/2 feed setting. When I have run it on high, I did find that my stove
started to run out of combustion air and burn lousy. When you get your parts try to set the flame as stated
above you may find that you get more heat at a lower feed setting with the combustion air damper open more.

THe last two days I burnt I figured the flame out. The flame before I guess you could call it lazy. But I couldn't pull the damper out I think because of it sticking. After using alot of force I got the damper out more. THe flame was smaller and more forceful the pellets burned in the pot and not build up. Smoke was much less. But I guess it was to late due to the build up.
 
THe dealer forgot to order a gasket for the housing on the combustion fan. Do you think I could use a silicone HIGH TEMP as a sub until I get the gasket? I really want to get this stove fired up soon am curiuos if any other damage done by the fan fire.
 
Mechanically it will work just don't use too much it will make it hard to get the blower off.
When You do take the blower back off to replace the gasket be careful not to bend the blower flange
 
Also the damper rod may have a lock collar with a set screw on the back of the panel to
prevent it from being bumped out of adjustment accidentally.

Do I really need a Magnehelic gauge to set the damper?
 
In short no. One of My other stoves has one built in on the control panel.
I checked the enviro with it but I just assume adjusting it by eye.
Try to walk the fine line between orange lazy blacktipped flames and blowing
excessive ash/pellets out of the burn pot, then you will have it pretty close.

Thanks for the advise. Just finished replacing the combustion fan and used a 800* silicone from Rutland products. Started the stove fan works, auger works blower works but no green light to set the switch from manual to auto. I am suspecting that the exhaust temp sensor has tripped and needs to be replaced also. Any thoughts?

Go to page 2 and try the procedure at the top of the page It tells you how to trouble shoot the exhaust temperature switch
as well as the switch on the control panel. Also check the high temp switch to see if it tripped out, see middle of page four the
location of the high temp switch
