Home Depot in Portland and South Portland are selling Fireside Premium(softwood) for 5.99 a bag or 300 a ton. It is expensive, but it is available. Lowes has the Penningtons at the same price. Paris Farmer Union has pellets also. My friend just bought 1 ton of them yesterday. I believe they are the Corinth Pellets. He paid 300 for the ton. We here in Maine do have them, but are getting our noses rubbed in it.

Wow...Ill run oil before I pay 300 a ton for pellets. I always buy a crapload of leftovers in the summer at a cheaper rate so that they are cheaper and store them in my basment.

Going to be interesting to see what prices are this spring. I believe that if oil stays low, pellets will come down before spring, but maybe not.
There are a LOT of uninformed pellet buyers out there that may not realize that oil would save them money right now, and stores are going to charge whatever the market will bear.
I was in a local hardware store this afternoon...they had Lignetics, $6.99/bag.
