I have been looking for a pellet stove for the basement for a bit over a month now, i came across a Breckwell P24FSA (1995 model) stove in the area for $500. I was told it works great from the owner, the stove looks to be in great shape.

Should i just hold off and buy something newer? Or are these stoves made to last?

Thanks

I have a 97 P28I (became P2000I in 98) still works great although it doesn't burn 24/7 and I went a few years w/o using. One thing to consider is that if it's like my P28I the blower goes on when stove is turned on and blows cold air until exchange tubes warm up. From what I've read on here the blowers on newer stoves go one when certain temperature is reached. Just something to consider.

Hey, it's your money, but think about it...the stove is 13 years old! And have you ever seen someone say that what their trying to sell "works terrible"?

I'd offer him $375 AFTER I saw the stove run for an hour or so.
