I have a brand new Quad Castille insert which runs fine;but a have a minor problem with the sliding cover to the pellet hopper.

The left hand side wants to slide easily;but the right hand side is very tight. so the cover is difficult to open. Also the cover sometimes gives off an annoying vibration sound. The sound goes away if I push down on the cover.
I don't know if the two issues are connected.

Is there anyway to loosen the right side of the cover so it slides more easily? Anyone else have a similar vibration problem with the hopper cover?

I have the Castile insert also, and mine had the same problems you described. Mine has had a vibration in it that comes and goes, and what rattles when it vibrates is the top baffle plate inside the firebox.

My hopper lid was really hard to slide open and it was sticking on the right side, and what I found out is that when I would pull the lid open, it was actually catching a little on the surround trim plate which is the decroative trim thats up against the fireplace opening. I had to take a small file and I just gently filed the small area that was causing the lid to get hung up when I tried to pull it.

Once I fileed that area a little it opened real easy. I also got rid of the rattle or most of it by placing a tiny piece of aluminum foil up inside there the top baffle rests against the firebox, in the front by the door opening. All I did was take a small piece of aluminum foil, about 2 inches long by 1 inch wide and I folded it in the center, then I just push up the baffle a tiny bit and slide the aluminum foil up in place and lower the baffle down onto it. You dont want the foil too thick or you will have a gap up in the front there and that would not be so good.

Thanks for the info! I'll try those fixes.
