Hey Blaze King Owners

I bet you that 47hr burn time is down to the last red coal. I could claim 30 hrs that way. You could probably put your hand on the stove and it would be cold. It would be awesome if you could get at least half that burn with real usable heat though.

Na, when you read their brochure they are quite clear that the fire was still hot and a thick bed of coals ready to be restoked with another full load. I do think they optimized the conditions and probably had a 70 degree lab to prevent the stove from cooling much and then demanding the stat to open but we're talking 47 hours! Funny thing about the thermostatic stoves, they should always be at the same temp regardless of burn rate. The chart showed stove temp, cat temp, wood load, and flue temp as I recall. DUring the test they claimed 50 some pounds of tamarak vs. the 80# capacity.

Since my house is drafty I need the setting at a certain setting to get the level of heat that I like.A 12 hr. is ok with me.Of course this stove will burn longer on a lower setting however the heat generated may be too little for my home.Once insulated I think 15-20hr burns will be no problem.BK's 47 hour burns,I don't know under what conditions those times are achieved but I'm happy with the times I'm getting and will get.

I just purchase the BK Princess Insert!
Drove to Spooner WI from Minneapolis, about a 240 mile round trip. They made it worth my while, the stove shop had a never used display model that was in the shop sitting around with a price tag of $2,350.

I was able to talk them in to a end of "heating season" price of $1,834, with the all black door, rather than that gold one thay had on the princess insert. The owner just lifted the gold door off w/o and tools and put the all black one on.

This think is so much bigger than my CFM 2500 insert. I borrowed a 2 wheeler form work and put it in the garage, next to my snowblower.

I am gonna borrow some lifting straps to get it into the front door at the house. Its weights in at 335 lbs. Before that, I am gonna extend the hearth out to 31 inches. So I have a project before the install. Very excited.

Sounds like a fantastic price. Did you happen to see what they were getting for the Blaze King King Classic?

Please realize that Blaze King makes a King classic and a princess classic.

They have the king ultra for $2,478.

Hey Wet1,ya I'm still burning.It's in the 20's and 30's at night here.The King cooks all day with one fire.I don't think it's displaying it's peak efficency since I don't have it hooked up to a eight inch pipe.I think after the season I'll move it to the basement where I do have an eight inch hookup and move the Mansfield upstairs to the six inch hookup.I 'll start next month with the wall demolition and insulating.Next winter we'll be very toasty.

Thanks Rich. Are you having any problems running it on the 6" flue? How long is your 6" flue? So you're only loading once every 24 hours and you don't have to relight the stove? Are you able to choke it down enough so the house isn't over heating during the day when it's in the high 40's- low 50's?
