I've had mixed luck with the HD and Lowes pellets (fireside Ultra- good, freedom fuel- ehhh, greene team- ehhh). Also tried Big Heat from a local yard (horrible). My local hardware store sells Lignetics, but at $8 a bag!!! I was just wondering if anyone knows of a reliable (relative I know) place to get good pellets without getting gouged or buying crap. How are the cleanfire pellets from pelletsales.com? I'm burning them in a Lopi Leyden

thanks

Rob

Lots of people on here burn CleanFire w/ no problems at all. Do a search and read up on comments.

I have also tried several of the brans that you mentioned. I found Cleanfires to have the best balance of good hot burn, low fines and clean. Pelletsales actually had them stored in Sparta at Grinnell. So when I ordered them, Grinnell delivered them to Vernon. I don't know if you can buy them directly from Grinnell or not but it may be worth a check if you need some more at this point in the season. There are also several places on Route 23 that have them but I don't know their name. One was the Garden shop in Wantage on route 23 Northbound, one by Oak Ridge (also a garden Center by a Boat seller) on Rt. 23 Northbound and a Garden center on Route 23 South Bound on the divider in Oak Ridge who still has a sign out that he has Pellets in stock but I heard he was pricey.

Sorry I can't give you names but I see them as I'm driving by and haven't stopped by them.

Hope this helps.

You can buy Lignetics for 6 bucks a bag or 300 a ton from Wingles building supply in Branchville. They also sell big heat but will stop after this winter because of complaints.
Has anyone here burned Lignetics and cleanfire? If so how do the cleanfire compare?
The Lignetics I have found are the cleanest and the hottest burning.
All of us from Sussex county should get together and buy a 1/2 truck load fromPellet sales .com.We could get them for under 250 a ton off season. I am waiting for there early spring prices to come out.

Still think they can come down lower. They said you can pick them up at there distributors

It works out to $298/ton for them to deliver to me....still way too rich for my blood.

Where are their distributors located?

EDIT: I see that they have a spot on the form for a "Promotion Code"....anyone know what that's all about? Is it a discount for previous buyers only?

Using a promotional code will get you $10 off your order.
PM me if you are interested.

I've bought 2 tons of Lignetics recently from Cozy Dog fireplace in Rochelle Park NJ....they delivered to my for 300.00 a ton plus 25.00 delivery...to me it's worth it for these pellets, and I didn't have to make 2 trips in the old pickup.

I bought Clean Fire pellets from Pelletsales.com last year and had them delivered to Edison, NJ. I just called them, and they said that I can pick them up from their Sparta storage location, so I can save the delivery costs. Loved the pellets, burned real well in the Acentra, very little fines. Cost of purchase as of today is $260/ton, but you have to order from pelletsales.

MacmanWhen I called Pellet sales and gave them my zip code they told me all the distributors within 1 hr. The lady was very nice and said I can order as little as 1 ton. No extra fee as long as I pick them up.

I just picked up 2.6 tons in Sparta, worked out pretty well. I spoke to the mgr. for pellet sales in NJ at pelletsales.com and he said that the cost will probably drop to $240-250/ton in the spring, but probably not any lower. I think the only thing that will get the price down is if the housing market picks up and there is an abundant supply of sawdust. When they are not making lumber, flooring, etc., the demand outweighs the supply. Some mills are grinding down trees, etc. to get material for pellets because there is not enough sawdust. We need the waste product supply to go up. FYI, the promotion code is for a reccomendation to pelletsale.com. If you recommended a friend, and he buys, you both get a $10.00/ton discount on the next order.

I just tried a promotion code that another hearth.com member gave me, and it didn't work. She tried it too, and it didn't work for her either.....anyone else try it?

We sell Lignetics Brand Wood Pellets. We have had great reviews from our customers on these wood pellets. We have sold other brands previous years that were not the quality that Lignetics are. We have a good supply of them as I write this. We are selling them right now for $295.00 a ton for 1 -3 tons and $290.00 a ton 4 tons or more. We will also deliver them for a delivery charge.
