What type of Wood Furnace Pipe and Blower for PSG Caddy

I'm looking at getting a PSG Caddy as I can get a good price on one and heard they are quite good furnaces. The rep told me I need pipe that costs $150 for four feet of pipe to run from my basement to the roof. Does that sound right? What type of pipe is it and maybe I can find a better deal on-line. Also, I need to buy a blower for it. What type of blower would be recommended for a PSG Caddy?

You'll either need to have a masonary chimney installed or run class A stainless pipe. Lots of places on-line sell it.

As for the blower, talk to your PSG dealer when you order your furnace. They should have one spec'd already.
 
The blower is a 4 speed direct drive blower. Not sure what your are needing. The Add-on uses your current blower on your electric/gas/oil furnace. The other Caddy has its own blower and the housing are all one unit. Is it an add-on?
 
Yes, it would be an add-on. I understand now that it is chimney pipe as for the blower the dealer did not have one available. I can check with PSG corporate to see what is recommended.

If you don't have a furnace, and want a stand alone then the add-on isn't what you need. The add-ons use the central furnaces blower to make a series connection. The furnace that comes with the blower, can be installed in parallel or stand-alone to the ductwork. What type of heating do you currently have?
 
I have a natural gas furnace and wanted the Caddy as an add-on. So, I can bag the blower based on what Laynes69 has said in his above post. Thanks for the help guys. On the Yukon pipe, I need to see if I need to buy one of their furnaces for that deal. I can get a good deal on the Caddy so want to go with it. I heard the caddy's do quite well.
 
The Add-on can be installed on the left or right side of your natural gas furnace. They have removable panels to do so. There are diagrams in the manual to show you how to do so. Here is a link to the manual for the add-on. Go to page 10 for series ducting.

I'm getting 10 hour clean burns on semi full load. Maybe 4 to 5 decent splits. I would never see those with my old furnace. Also the Caddy takes half the wood as the old, but produces more heat for a longer period of time. And burning cleaner in the process. Its a big improvement over the old, we are happy.
