Feeling the Heat

My father wants me to put a stove in his garage so he can heat the space because he stores his plants in the garage for the winter.

I want to install a fire suppression system with two sprinkler heads right above the hearth. The garage has about a 20ft ceiling but we want to smoke stack to exit out the side out the wall and up instead up straight up and out the ceiling. What is the best sprinkler head? I plan on just running an exposed cold water line right across the garage ceiling and then one near where the chimney exits and one a little lower by the stove. So I only need two heads so if its a little expensive that is ok.

First issue to address is installation of a solid fuel-burning appliance in a garage. In many, if not most, areas of the country it's not permitted. Check your local regs to be sure before proceeding. Rick

We just had a nursery in a nearby town burn to the ground. Fire was caused by a wood stove in the greenhouse. Much better to pipe in heat from an outdoor wood stove. Plus if your sprinkler pipes freeze.. Be safe.

Choosing the right sprinkler head flow/temp/water pattern etc... and installation is best left to the professionals.
