So they're calling for 6-8 inches of the white stuff coming in tonight for my area and some cold temperatures. I'm an evening and night burner during the week as I can't bring myself to have a good fire going during the day while we're away at work. But this weekend, since I won't be able to do anything but set there and look at the snow, I can set back and watch the fruits of my labor keep my house nice and toasty. May go shovel something just to get outside for a bit and get cold just so I can come back in and stand by the hot box. My point being there will be no LP leaving my tank this weekend as long as I'm able to carry my wood from back porch to my stove. Love this stuff.

Please send snow north -- I need more . . . lots more.

6-8" of snow probably isn't much to most of you, but down south here, that would bring everything to a stand still for a little while...especially if it stays good and cold. I will though have to leave the fire for a little while and play around in the jeep some!

Snowing good on the Plateau here in Mid TN just outside Fall Creek Falls State Park. We fixin' to get hammered unless warm air pushes up out of the Gulf. Of course by "hammered" I mean what most folks up north consider a dusting.

You must plow for a living!! : )

High temp of 20 and lows in single didgits with 30mph NW winds today. The stove will be blazing tonight!!!

Having a warm fire on a regular basis has helped me make peace with winter and has done much to make the new wife more comfortable in New England!!! Enjoy your fires tonight guys.

At this point I'll take whatever we can get . . . we lost nearly all of our snow base in the mild weather that came through here this past weekend and earlier this week . . . it gave us a nice break from heating, but at the expense of losing the snowpack.

Nope . . . but I snowmobile and it's a bit hard to "mudmobile" right now since we lost so much of the snow this past weekend and earlier this week. The ATV is ready to go . . . but we have to wait until late Spring to ride to avoid tearing up the trails.

Oh, I see. Yeah it was freaky warm last week. Got up to 60 here on Monday. Hope that works out for ya, though I won't be bummed if the snow goes no further South than NH!!!

We need one more big storm up here to restore the bases on the ski slopes and the snowmobile trails. Get us through Feb vacations so all the southern New Englanders will come up and spend some money.

Once everyone gets home and the cars are safely in the driveway I now enjoy a good snowstorm. Let the stove hum along while I'm out shoveling; nothing like seeing that shimmer of heat coming out of the chimney.

It really seems weird with so many places either no snow or very little. I was just looking and last winter we had 42" of snow before Christmas. This winter we got 9" before Christmas and very little since. It's been 3 weeks since I've plowed any snow here and we don't have much left.

3AM- nothing
3:30AM- snow starts
6AM- snow stops, I shovel about an inch and think "not too bad!"
7AM- snow starts again
9AM- another two inches, I shovel again to keep up and think " this can't last much longer"
10:30AM- snowing harder than ever, got 6+ now and I am waiting until it stops before I shovel a third time.

Dogs are ecstatic.
Wood heat rocks.

We probably had 3 or 4", but the sleet/rain compressed it down pretty well. I think it warmed up during the night, fortunately, and kept the freezing rain away. We can do without the ice storms.

Yeah, that's it NH_Wood, I was just thinking of the tourist dollars you'd all be missing out on.

Truth be told I don't mind the snow all that much as long as it's not on a workday...sucks to have to shovel before or after work.
