Well here it is, almost the end of MAY and last night we ran one stove all night again.

Started the Prodigy about 7 last eavening and its still on this morning. The weather is wretched with wind and rain forcast for today and tomorrow.

Maybe by Saturday it may improve some.

Looking at the forcast for Alaska, and Fairbanks is in the 80F arena for this week.

Hmmmmmm whats wrong with this scenario ???

Keeping the fire going

Snowy

Sunny, dry, and HOT in South Central Maine . . . 89 - 91 degrees.

Trying to run the AC hard enough so I have to start the pellet stove . . . :)

Snowy,

Was in the 90's here and we had to break out the AC. Just couldn't take it with the indoor temps getting in the mid 80's. Nice and comfy 72ºF now. Hope the AC is off soon though. I hate using it!

Send me some of that cooler weather please!

Left the windows open last night, a cold front backed through, about 3:15 this morning heard the Revolution fire up

Snowy,

Well, here in Denmark/Northern Europe we have had the coldest may in 14 years. A couple of days ago there was freezing temperatures at night.

In 1996 it was a bit colder, though.

According to the meteorologists there is an explanation to this.... whenever we have had an "Ice-winter", the following spring (and maybe the whole summer) gets colder than average.

This winter was close to meet the definition of a typical "Ice-winter", but it didn't quite get there, whereas the winter of 1995-96 for sure did.

In Denmark the main-parameter of this Ice-winter definition is quite simple... when the ice-breakers are needed to keep the belts and straits navigable, we have an Ice-winter.

But, the swallows have arrived. That's a sure sign of summer. Amazing little bird.... it has travelled all the way from South Africa up here. Across the huge Sahara desert.

The swallows can't be wrong, summer is here

Have a good summer all of you here at Hearth.com

Bo

i would love to trade you it was 92 here with 98% humidity

In the 50s here. Still burning.

Just fired up the stove, didn't need to at 8pm. 75° in here and it is burning on low. It will cool some overnight so having the Advance lit will be nice in the morning.

Jay :)

Its going to be 90 degrees today so the stove will be getting put in the garage and will be replaces with a big Jade plant until October. Its going to be nice to enjoy the summer but I have no fear of mother natures cold winter coming faster than you think. (6 plus tons of Turmans in the garage ready to blaze- got em for $239/ton in March!!!)
Everyone celibrate safely today and remember exactly why this is a holiday....and thank a vet! God bless america....burn american fuel!!!
Good luck to all.

Wow, would love to send you some of our cold stuff... The ridge across from us still has snow on it. Yesterday it was 67*, hottest it's been all year...

Still running the Empress.

Edited to add:

Looks like we're finally going to get a break in the weather. This weekend, (12 Jun) it looks like temps will finally break 65 and stay above that for the next week or so. Local weather-guessers have all been commenting on how it's been raining and such for something like 2 1/2 months straight.

I got to burn a bit this morning to raise the temperature above 64°. I notice half as much snow on Mt. Baldy than a week ago (another mountain I see west of me). It should be gone within the week. It is supposed to hit 90° Sunday. Maybe time to stack pellets in the basement. We did have some snow Fathers Day weekend some years ago so there is hope. ;)
