Says $25 off per ton, they also say they will price match any identical product. I hope they have something decent, this could be my buy I've been waiting for.

Good luck. Make sure to post the price and brand(s) of pellets they carry in the "Fuel Price Report" at the top of the page.

What brand pellets and $25 off of what price would be what I was interested in knowing. $25 off $300 for Infernos is not such a deal for example.

That's what I want to know too. Last year they had Maine Choice, Maine Woods, and Premier. I paid $225 with some discounts last year.

TSC seems to have there pellets supplied by local pellet wholesale distributor's. Every TSC I have gone to has different brands in stock. I burned and liked the Premier hardwoods(they are bagged by Energex). Look out for the hardwood heat(they are Hamer hotones) they are pretty good. But the best pellet I have seen them carry is the Somerset. Some stores also carry the Lignetics.

Only issue I have with TSC is they store there pellets outside. Be sure to check them for moisture issues!

They are building a new TSC near me in Sanford. Looks like they will be open soon.
I hope they have some "grand opening" deal like that.

Yep, I've noticed the same thing.....my local TSC has had all these (at different times), over the last 2 burning seasons: Lignetics Softwood, Premier Softwood, Maine Woods, Michigan, and AWF.

Just got back from TSC in Augusta ME, they have the Maine Woods pellets. They are in the new bag, seen on previous post, so they should be new stock. The price with the coupon is $204 per ton.

Look for the Pellet Fuel Institute certification.

Yep, I agree. PFI means nada these days. Some of the best pellets I have burned do "NOT" have the PFI label!

Received my coupon today and it's hard to imagine bargain hunting when it's 94 degrees outside. The brand they are carrying are Indeck Lady Smith pellets. Has anyone heard or burned these pellets before and if you have were they a pellet worthy of mention. BTU...I tried my very best for Okies but TSC must pick what is the easiest for delivery to Fargo ND. Sale starts here no earlier than July 6th for roughly 190.00 per ton with discount. Price is right but as always with something I haven't heard about before, I'm leary. Any info is appreciated. Thanks

I know we have seen this before, but does the Twin Ports testing hold any water ? if so their newest batch looks petty good, and the price looks even better.

Where I live in Michigan our TSC's just carry usually Michigans, and Pro Pellets. I got the coupon as well. I might go with some more Pro Pellets...

Our local TSC ( Putnam CT ) has pellets for 289.50 per ton. Take the $25.00 coupon off - $264.50 per ton Stored outside.
I beat that price on every pellet I sell with the exception of Okies at 269 and all of the pellets are stored inside.

Got my $25 coupon in the mail today....I really don't need any pellets, but the pig in me will make me at least call them tomorrow and ask what they plan on getting and how much. :cheese:

The putnam TCS manager called me yesturday and asked if I recieved the coupon. He mentioned with the coupon, they are $209/ton. Did they lower the price? Too bad I just had 4 ton of energex(Canadian) delivered on Monday. Got those for $229/ton.

Gave Chester, NY TSC a call today....Premier Hardwood, $229 - $25 coupon = $204/ton. Not bad.

Called the Highland, NY TSC (approx 30 miles from above store).....$289 - $25 = $264/ton, and the MANAGER didn't even know what brand he had in stock. :ahhh:

imacman,

Some store managers even if standing in front of the product wouldn't be able to tell you what they were carrying.

Been there many a time, we needn't discuss any advice given by some of the folks at such places.

Yep, From what I gather they(and there sales reps) think pellets are all the same and there isn't much difference between brands. Heck one even told me they are all bagged at the same place anyway! And they don't know how to properly handle them either. The only info I expect from them is where they keep them in the store and there price.

No coupon from TSC here. I must be chopped liver! I did do a drive to the store to check out what appeared to be pellet bags out in the yard. The were all wrapped up but I could descern on the side what appeared to be a a small black square pellet stove and the words premium wood pellets. Are these the pellets from the Athens Maine plant in a new bag?

I was also grumbling about (I think it was Jtakeman's comments) about being able to but Maine Choice outside of Maine cheaper than somebody in Maine. Not grumbling about you Jtakeman not at all just how they are pricing these things. I was hoping to move up from Maine Choice to a lower ash this year.

Yup sounds like the pellets made in Athens. You know what really gets me is how Cubex pellets from Quebec that are probably trucked right past my house to markets hundred of miles away are sold cheaper than you buy them for right here in Maine. And they wonder why so many Maine house holds are dependant on oil for heat.

Sorry for the rant, I'm finished.

BJN644 rant away and smalltown grumbling is allowed too!

It just doesn't seem right or fair for that matter. So much for the transportation fee's. I know the dealers need to make money to stay afloat and that's why they are in business. Just seems some are pushing it if you know what I mean. If the shoe was on my foot I would be squaking very loadly! Possibly looking for another fuel option! I know I would be calling the athens plant for a what gives here??

peace!

Hells bells there BJN644, Cubex can be purchased here in Maine for less than what some places are asking for Maine pellets.

Keep right on a ranting, I'll even join you on occasion.

I just posted this under the fuel price reports; the Tractor Supply in North Windham CT has Instant Heat for $204.50 per ton. That's the lowest I've seen at any TSC around here. As has been mentioned, they store outside so buyer beware.
