Anyone have experience with the brand Enerzone or with Avalon?

Hey all,

A local shop is pushing these as alternatives to the Lopi Republic 1750. I believe they said Avalon has the same manufacturer, and very similar models with some different features.

However, Enerzone was almost the same price as the Lopi, with almost identical specs, but I can't find any real information on them.

I'm just wondering if I should even consider the alternatives...the Lopi is a great price, looks good (I'm more a function over form guy), and has a great reputation. Plus the damper bypass valve and all that good stuff...

Thanks all,

Joe

Lopi and Avalon are both made by Travis Industries. I have no experience with the Enerzone, but I seem to recall reading good things about them.

The Lopi Republic line doesn't have the bypass damper only the Liberty and Endever have it.

The 1750 insert does have the bypass damper feature.

Ive been selling Enerzone stoves for 3 years and have mostly good things to say about most of them. If you let me know which Enerzone in particular your looking at, I'll give you an unbiased opinion. I know their warranty is one of the best Ive seen so far.

Thanks Franks. It would be the 2.3 insert model, which looks very similar to the Lopi Republic 1750, costs about the same.

For the similar cost, it appears to have a slightly larger fire box (.1 cubic foot larger), accept 2" longer logs, and same weight.

Says it's constructed with 5/16" steel plate, while the Lopi says 5/16" to 3/16"...

I think Lopi's reputation might be worth it, but the enerzone is certainly a fine looking unit...

Yep, if one of them does not, it must be the 1250.

When i was looking for a stove i had it down to two. The Enerzone 2.9 and Jotul Oslo. What made me decide on the Oslo was looking at the Enerzone in person. The ash removal system was kinda lame. There was this sink stopper type plug that you had to remove and rake the ash down a hole. I could see that as being a pain later on. So i passed on that one. Other than that they are cool stoves i think.

New to this site. I see your post is pretty old so you may not even be on here anymore. I was wondering which stove you chose and how you like it. I have been looking and reading a lot. Have been helped and challenged by this forum. I just viewed the Enerzone 2.2-1 insert today. I was impressed. There was also a Lopi Republic 1750i in the showroom which is what I originally went to the store to view. I am inclined to go with the Enerzone when comparing the two. The viewing window was larger and the price included the fan. I also looked at the Lopi Freedom, with the larger glass area and firebox, but it was significantly more expensive. I would appreciate any input if you read this. By the, FYI, my home is small at 1000 sf and the fireplace is centrally located.
