The Quad 1200 had some issues with the heat exchanger tubes dropping. If I were going to invest in a new stove for my home today I would be looking at the St. Croix or Enviro lines. There are definately questions regarding the current quality of the Chinese made Quads. I for one would prefer to support our economy instead of our communist Chinese trading partners who have had the upper hand for a very long time. This is in large part what is wrong with our country's current economy. Too many Chinese products have been purchased! We must begin to take a stand and support our country or be happy with our children living in the "Poor House" and us too!!! That said it is very hard to find anything in the market place that is not in some way part Chinese. My thinking is anyway I can support a North American assembly line worker that will be my choice. Even if it is a Canadian worker!

My 2 cents worth for today.

Dropping tubes, not here. If someone was not buying Chinese, then you would not be buying much.

I was just looking for people that have a newer stove 1 or 2 years old. Wanted to know if they are happy with it..... any problems with it ... THANKS AGAIN

I have a one year old Quad 1200i insert and I've burned about 1 1/2 tons with zero issues. I love the stove.

Just like any other pellet stove, the 1200i will give you many years of trouble free service if you keep up with the annual maintenance. Also make sure you buy from a reputable dealer. If the stove ever needs servicing down the road you want to be sure your dealer is still in business.

I have a CB1200i and this is my third season with it. I have burned about 12 tons and have not had any problems including "dropping" tubes (whatever that is). Like most stoves, keep them clean and they will last a long time.

Two seasons so far with 7 tons burned. No issues.

CB 1200 is one of my favorite stoves, and I see many. The Chinese Mt Vernons are a bit odd. I haven't had to fix anything in them yet except for an igniter and that is still a US part I think. The Chinese ones are very quiet. There is a lot of circuitry out back and in every motor. If it were me, I'd be looking around for a used baby from a forclosed house. Great deals out there in the used market. Enviro and Quad both make a great prodcut, though Enviro parts are very expensive.
