The igniter stays on to long and burns the fuel out of the pot. Stove and pipes cleaned and new esp probe. Thanks for the
help. Harman Pc 45

so the stove feeds pellets like normal start-up, ignitor fires up, pellets ignite and the pellets burn away before the stove gets to temp (no more pellets feed)? How long does the igniter light stay on? Any chance that the stove isn't feeding enough pellets at start-up?

Was it a new ESP probe which was SPLICED in, or a "whole nine yards" esp probe with a new probe, wire, and plug?

The probe was a full unit new plug and all. The igniter stays
on till the corn or pellets are are mostly burned. It stays on for 15 minutes or even more. Then it takes a long time to establish a
proper fire. Once it is burning it is fine, but I am afraid to go away and use the stove on the automatic cycle. When I got troublegetting it to burn corn and we replaced the esb probe and that fined it. Checked draft and it was OK.
Sorry I don't type very well
Thanks again Bart

Thats not the answer. I it is taking life out of the unit. It needs to be fixed it was not that way before.
I is also wasting fuel and takes longer to get heat.
Thanks Bart

did the original ESP have red wires and the new one black wires?

wires from probe are white to part no 050407 then black to plug on circut board. all probes are the same.
any new ideas? Thanks again Bart

betcha the air pump isnt pushing out the air like it used to into the ignitor housing, or it's intake is clogged up... you should check before you burn out the ignitor (just a minute of the ignitor running w/ out the air pump will cause it to burn out!)..

It has good air blast, it lights same as always. it does not quit the high draft and igniter cycle after the fire starts.
It blows the fire almost our before the igniter cycle stops. Do you have a number were I could reach you?
Thanks again Bart

It sounds more like the problem is it isn't feeding pellets fast enough. The ignitor won't shut off until the stove is at a certain temp, or it times out from my understanding.

Maybe the ignitor is already burned out or weak, and isn't heating the pellets up enough to light properly. Or maybe they are junk pellets.

I don't know much about the P45. Can you run it in stove temp, or room temp mode?

Which are you running it in? Can you turn the pellet feed rate up, so that after it catches when it does start to feed pellets again, it is at a higher rate?

My stove lights up in about 6 minutes but I have never watched how long the ignitor stays on after that. I always assumed it stayed on for some while until the stove reaches a certain temp, but I just don't care.

Maybe I will watch it, next time it starts up from cold and post the numbers.

If the stove starts taking a long time to light, I will first suspect the pellets, and then suspect the ignitor. I personally am not too concerned with the ignitor burning out, I expect this to happen after a time, as it is a heating element.

I see it as a consumable item.

Mark :)
