Coldest so far this year. After a 22" snowstorm we are now getting hit with an Arctic blast. Had both stoves loaded up for bear last night and woke up to a nice toasty 75 throughout the house.

Ouch! -21!!!!!!

I am on business travel today in Orlando FL and I am told the temp was about 27 degrees here this morning. To the locals - it feels like -20 something!

Not a good day to be riding the outdoor disney rides!

Bill

Dang! All that work this summer replacing that fireplace is paying off. Big time.

It sure looked like you guys were gonna go Arctic. I walked out the door at -7F this morning. Anything less than nothing (0) is getting darn cold.

was up at 3:00a.m. damn insomnia loked at the thermometer and expected at least -20f sincce the temps on the tv were showing below 0 from minnesota to mid wisconsin and was very suprised that i had 0f. the cold isn't fun but better you than me!

Brrr. And it isn't even winter yet! You know it's cold when the dogs crawl under the covers with you.

You ever thought about selling those 2 stoves and buying a U-Haul and get the Hell-Out of there?

-21...... it was 18 this morning with 15-25mph winds and I was cussing my xxx-off, while feeding the horses.

Our coldest here in the south of England is 23f, but with the forecast going down to 19f this weekend, max daytime of about 28f.

This is the coldest December temperature here on record, so I do not envy you guys at all.

I suspect I will not be alone in shifting piles of wood indoors tomorrow morning.......... :)

And when it's really cold you don't push them away......... :)

I had about -23 this am outside, 70*+ inside. I am burning the Lopi and the greenwood boiler so we aren't using any propane for heat or hot water. Where in NW Wis are you? I am about 25 miles s of Duluth. This is my favorite time of the year, finished my current project so I get to stay home and stoke fire. Good time to bake bread.

About minus 2 this morning with the windchill and 70 upstairs and 73 in the basement, started burning some nice three year old sugar maple last night. Tonight some beech with the sugar maple so we get the basement 80+.

Especially if you don't have any dogs. :ahhh:

We didn't even get that cold with the wind chill Todd. That is one reason we are blessed by the Great Lakes; it moderates the temperatures a bit. We are very thankful for that. Just be careful when you do outdoors Todd so you don't test the frosticles.

-22°F below zero here this morning. No chance Old Smokey made any creosote last night!

And I thought the 3 degree temp we had here this morning was cold. Still a little snow on the ground as well. Feel like a Yankee. :)

A toasty 25* in N.Fla this morning.......upper teens predicted for tonight.

Built my fire from coals last night......does that count as an 11 hour burn from a 1 cubic foot stove (7:00am - 6:00pm)?

The SECOND YEAR is soooo much easier

Here in Maine we had just the opposite today. The meteorologist on the radio this morning commented that Key West was the only place in Florida that was warmer than any town in Maine at 7am this morning.

We got the remnants of your blizzard in liquid form Sunday and Monday with over 4" of rain across most of our state. Roads were flooded in all lowlands on my ride home last night. Currently my lawn is greener than it was in August. This is a similar weather pattern as last year and it is seriously messed up.

Hope you get warmed up and dig out soon!

Actually I've been thinking of selling everything and buying a big RV to live and travel in. Go North in the Summer and South in the Winter.

I live on Lake Wissota near Chippewa Falls. Use to live in Duluth back in the 80's, nasty cold up there. Baking a honey wheat bread as I type.

You may be blessed with less cold but you get more snow from the lakes. I remember those snowy 300" Winters up in the UP!

I hear yah, VERY FRUSTRATING from a snow lovers perspective when it seams like everywhere other then new England is getting cold and snow. pisses me off! What makes it worse is they dont even want the snow and we do!

My Mom said it was 48* this morning in Maine. UNREAL! I am pissed actually!
I am flying over for Christmas and like most years past planned on riding snowmobile. Might have to help my Dad cut grass instead!

There was 2 feet of snow in the Sherman Patten Oakfield area but in your neck of the woods they didn't have diddly squat. It was beautiful today worked outside in a sweatshirt :cheese:

Supposed to get 3 or 4 tonight up there so maybe their is hope for snowmobiling

There was a reason my mother's family moved out of up-state Wisconsin (although my Grandfather belonged to a polar bears club in Appleton, WI) and why I no longer live in western Nebraska.
