Tonight will be our third night of below zero temps. I've been running the stove 24/7, and the insert one or
two cycles per day in order to keep things toasty in the 70's. It's nice to have that little extra boost with the Quad
insert in our main living area. I opened up a Christmas present early and put the stove-stat on the insert, following
velvetfoot's lead.

Todd I knew there was a reason I moved to the south side of Lake Wissota, only -20 this morning but it was a nice toasty 75 in the house.

 Good one  How much lake effect did you get?

I figured you were right in the thick of it with snow and cold up there. It only got to -12 down here last night. Woke up after a 9 hour overnight burn in the BBF with the cat still at 500 degrees and the house was 71 degrees. Inside temps have been nice and comfy in the mid to low 70's all during this cold spell which is not too bad for an insert and 2300 sq.ft.

last night at 8:30, it was -20f. this 4:30 a.m. i have -25f. i think there is still a little left before it bottoms out. no wind so thats good and the forecast will be for warmer nights....lows of 0f.

Actually quite warm, 15* right now, but with 75mph wind gusts it's not pleasant outside. I spent a solid hour digging my car out of the driveway so I could get to work.

I don't think my thermometer can go that low nor do I ever want to see temps that low lol

A balmy 11 degrees here. Only 17 degrees below average.

9° here in southern Ohio which is insane for this time of year

Hard to believe that Virginia would be colder than Mass..... The low overnight temp was 17.3 degrees here with 20-25 mph winds..

...it's a balmy 8* here in beautiful Zelienople.

It's going to be a nice sunny day and is minus 15 F. Will be warming up today. Worst
behind us for the week.

My car said it was 0 on my way into work this morning...

Here in Maine we had just the opposite today. The meteorologist on the radio this morning commented that Key West was the only place in Florida that was warmer than any town in Maine at 7am this morning.

We got the remnants of your blizzard in liquid form Sunday and Monday with over 4" of rain across most of our state. Roads were flooded in all lowlands on my ride home last night. Currently my lawn is greener than it was in August. This is a similar weather pattern as last year and it is seriously messed up.

Hope you get warmed up and dig out soon!

I hear yah, VERY FRUSTRATING from a snow lovers perspective when it seams like everywhere other then new England is getting cold and snow. pisses me off! What makes it worse is they dont even want the snow and we do!

Amen Brother ColdNH . . . I want the cold and the snow . . . I'm blaming all this on my wife though who would be living somewhere south of the Mason Dixon Line if it wasn't for me and my love of Maine and Winter.

Yesterday it got up to 8 C (46 F) here yesterday, but cooled off over night down to about -2 C (28).
Looks like ther are only expecting a high of 3 C (37 F), Bummer

Had 15 this at 6:00am yesterday was 8 Only19 now at 10:55

We are up to a balmy 26f. Problem is some ice is on the way for today. Closing school early to try and beat it.

Thermo read 0*f at 7:30 this morning. I lit a fire to keep the furnace from running all day just to hold 60*. Ussually don't do that when the wife & I are leaving for work. The dog will enjoy a few toasty hours. More snow coming tonight & tomorrow, but I ain't complaining 'cause places very near here got socked from Fri through yesterday.

-38f this morning. After a relatively warm November we're paying for it with below zero nearly all this month so far. It's supposed to get colder the next two days. That's Alaska!

i feel for you poor dogs in alaska!! my lowest today go to -28f. kinda close to what you had but definetly the coldest i've had this season. still wondering what kind of wood is burnt up there?????
