Watching the Patriots this afternoon when I decided to load the wood stove. Was near the end of the game when I decided to do this. Went to log on this site and remembered---the stove. Thank God the air control works on the stove and it shut down. Not certain how hot it got, but it was 700 when I got down there.

Guess I cannot give my wife a hard time next time she forgets.

Man, those secondary JETS must have been roaring. What a miserable game - I feel your pain.

Yes you can and you should! The same way you should be chastising yourself. It is not a little thing to forget the stove! I always say to never leave the stove room until the draft has been set down low. People need to realize just how dangerous this can be if it gets out of hand.

Guess that means I have been placed into time out.

I'm sure the few seconds of panic you experienced when you realized you left the stove unattended will help you remember the next time. I'm sure many of us have done that before to some degree at one time or another.

Er, I didn't think the game was so miserable!

I've forgotten a few times too....glad to have followed good installation practice. Lets you sleep easier at night knowing it was done right and if you have an unattended fire it will be ok.

i couldn't believe the game either. i thought it was going to be an easy win for the Pats and apparently they did too. Should never have had the bye week. Guess i'll have to root for the Stealers, even though i hate to do it. Green Bay and Stealers....go Big Ben.

Man, my secondary Jets were working just fine yesterday thank you.

My stove may be made out of steel but I love it when those Jets are burning hot! For the sake of my stove (only) I hope the steel can handle those burning Jets.

Go Jets!

700ºF for a stove temp is not unusual. Hell, I get that almost every burn!

As I said, 700 was what it was when I got down there (the air had shut down when I went back down to the basement) so I am not certain how high it went. The Vigilant usually is pretty good about shutting itself down when it is getting too hot.

Looks like the JETS cooled off along w/ the temperature in the NE.

Packers/Steelers, great matchup, time for big Ben to find out what it's like to lose the big game.

Go Packers!
