I set the aquastat to shut the damper at 205 °F . My general load goal was (4) 14-16" Oak ronds, 18". No Uglies unless I was there to babysit.I loaded every 4-6 hours. When I say load, I don't mean it needed 4 fresh pieces. I simply added to keep the general 4 piece idea going.
Observations?
This morning weather.com has my city at -9 °F . Decks are bangin' and popin' all night. All zones are at t-stat set points. Mrs had 140 °F DHW for morning ritual. Gone through more wood volume than I would like, but not as much as I was afraid I would. Still got a bunch of wood outside the boiler room that needs cutting to size or splitting.
Possibly in line with Pat, I find gurgling noises when the GW approaches 200. When the damper shuts the gurgling diminishes and about 20-30 seconds after, stops.
As with the rest of the heating season so far, this has been the best year at handling the Cold Snap. The oil burner has been unplugged the entire time :cheese:
Rock on!
