I've recently acquired another stove for my living room. It's a Jamestown J2001T pellet insert made around 1995.The day I picked up the stove from the previous owner my helper friend broke the door glass as we were loading it on the truck. The original door had a full rap around glass window....which I'm having a devil of a time finding a replacement window.
I did find another door off an older Jamestown stove made in the late 80's but this door has three windows, a smaller window on each side and a bigger one in the centre it also has a line of very small holes the bottom underside of the door...must have been a attempt at some kind of an air wash system...not sure really what the holes are for?
My problem is my stove glass gets very dirty real fast...hardly see the flame after 10 to 15 hours of burn time,it leaves a nice light brown film on all three windows. Is there a way I can make or modify an air wash for this stove window?
The original stove window has a screwed piece of metal with a lip just above the top of the glass...think it probably was some sort of an air wash system.
Anyone have some tips or ideas.

yes...get a more careful helper friend

any chance its a product of some restriction in the combustion system causing poor burn?

No the stove is working fine, nice white flame no black smoke just a light gray powder film on the glass after a few hours of burning.
The stove was completely cleaned before it was installed combustion blower was removed and cleaned and re-installed with new gaskets in the door,ash-pan and burn pot base.
