http://www.sud-chemie.com/scmcms/web/page_en_3142.htm was the manufacture for BK at my time of purchase.
maybe thats it. i think your idea of getting it from a local dealer would have been a better choice and prob fit a lot better.

i dont think they are. i talked to bogydave and he said he got his from his dealer and believes they get them from a place that makes them directly for the stove. i will do that next time. well at least i know mine is nice and tight and sealed in there. it def seems to be holding cat temp much better and no smoke at all over 4 hours later. i really think i abused the old cat to much and when took out the old cat it had significant hole right through to the back of the cat. and was pretty fragile. so moral of the story is take care of the cat and i believe that alot of the oak pallet wood with nails in it really wacked it out last year and the year before. i will really take care of this one.

heres a nice picture.

Glad ya got it in and working. When I changed mine it wasn't hard at all. It just slide right in.

How old was the first cat? If within 3 years it should be covered under 100% warranty. Read your manuals warranty info and call BK you might be able to get a free new cat for stand by if you haven't tossed the old one yet.

yeah its just under 3 years. but does it cover abuse? lol. its pretty shattered up cuz after it came out it fell apart a little bit. plus i was playing with it to see how brittle it was.

Guess its worth a shot.

Bobby, when you get a chance can you give me a link to the site where you bought the combustor. When I look on Condors site it shows a round combustor for the princess insert.

if you go to the www.woodstovecombustors.com and select blaze king and scroll down to the PEJ 1006 thats the one. i dont. i think that first one your looking at is an older model. but i dont know if i would recommend getting it on there now. im think that if you get it from the dealer it will fit better . that was not fun to get it. the link that north posted i believe is where they will order it from and there the ones the make it specifically for the stove.

Well the new cat is showing me that the old one was def in pretty bad shape. 14 hours later and still in the active zone this morning. as i watched it last night it was still glowing and in the high active range even 7 hours later. also it heats up faster and i feel the stove is stay hotter long as well.. after 14 hours my upstairs was still 69 degrees even though it is 35 degrees out.

I dont think Ill get one from that site but was curious which one it was, thanks for the link. I may order one from the original manufacturer just to have it on hand.
Glad yours is working better, I guess we dont know how the combustor looks on the other side til you take it out.
