Got a nice pile growing there.
Going to be a pretty big pile when all those big ones get split up.
Nice pictures & a bright work light.
Thought Connecticut was in the ""northern US"" & got snow & stuff like that?? All these pictures have green grass & shrubs (jealous :) )

You gusy were out splitting at night? I like that idea.
We had one snow storm Dave and it melted, been fairly warm here the last couple weeks, the cold is locked up in Alaska.

Nice heap o' wood!
I'm guessing that's some sort of soft Maple?

Actually, with a couple thousand watts, it's pretty decent working conditions. Sometimes you lose your beer in the dark. It always shows up, then repeat.
Daylight is short. You gotta do what you gotta do. Of course the neighbors and any passerby thinks we're nuts.

Trying to get him 2-3 years ahead.

Maple it is. All dumped in log lenght by my bud with a local tree service, there were previous pics up.

Need to get my act together, and get out of town in a bit. And RELAX!

KC

I agree, get yourself outta town for a little break.
I'm going out now to do some stacking.

One of these days I must teach KC how to split wood.

Well winter will get there eventually. Be a shame to have all that fire wood & not get cold enough to burn some :)

This past January, I used a friend's power splitter after dark with lighting. Kinda have to do that in the northern latitudes in winter. Nice job!

Denny, When we have two guys on the job, horizontal is the way to go, we have a system. All goes well. However when we get to the 18 inch plus rounds, I'm going vertical. Pics to follow.

KC, you'll be happy to hear we have our first measurable snow in the forecast. Maybe some will come your way.

And KC, you'll be happy to hear all of that has been stacked.
Under the spot light before Monday Night Football started.

Not to mention with the help of Jack, he likes driving the tractor from the split pile to stack pile.
Ready for more splitting this Friday night, if you're willing.

And when you are done there, I have about 5 cords to be split and another 5 cords to be bucked and split...that is, if you are looking to keep busy. ;-) I will provide food and beverage.

.

Will there be beer? Did you kill the Yukon yet?

Jags, no problem. Just let me tidy up the 30 or so things I need to do before I start skiing all winter.

KC

KC, you should have been here this morning. 6" of super sticky heavy wet snow. Had to even get the saw out to get out the driveway.
