I am thinking of buying a 16 ton electric ramsplitter 220 volt. Does anyone have any experience with these large electric splitters? Durability strength ect. Thank You Dennis Hershey

Someone on this site or on arboristsite connected an electric motor/gear pump in parallel with the existing gas engine & pump. Use gas or use electric. He had check valves too small and got heating and overload issues, but the fix is simple, larger checks. Great idea, and what i paln to do eventually. 120v is limited to about 1 to 2 hp, but 240 volts at 3 to 5 hp would be great package.

If you already have a gas engine machine that seems like a real good addition-watch ebay for power packs?
