Was it designed to be used as a freestanding stove with legs or a pedestal?
 
It has legs but the tag says built for a fireplace. I am sorry I just now saw this but I really need to get this heater up and I do not have a fireplace and do not have the money to buy another heater thank you for your reply
 
Is there a UL tag on the back? That should have clearance and hearth requirements.
