Hey folks!
Actually lit the stove this morning!! It was mid-fifties outside, and about 65ºF in the house, so I fired her up. Didn't take long to heat up the house, and didn't let it go much past the initial burn and a couple of splits. Just enough to take the chill outa the air.
2011 has proven to be, and is anticipated to be, a tough year. Taxes were heavy this year, after our home remodel, and the wife's M.S. is developing more in a negative way, symptomatically.
We streamlined our budget and cut out things that are unnecessary, even though (thankfully) I'm still working. Hadn't lost my job or had a layoff, during all this bad economic stuff, thank God.
So the "Internet" and e-mail were put down for a while. (writing this at work.....shame, shame). We cut back our Cable Television contract to "Basic" (which stinks, but heh), and stopped the newspaper. Doing everything we can think of, to ease the budget.
I'm hoping that the cord and a half I have left in the back yard will be sufficient to fill some of the colder spots during the depth of winter this coming Jan/Feb, and will reserve it for then, since we can't afford more wood for now.
Anyone of you in Connecticut that would like to Barter for a Fender Stratocaster (American Special Series, not Mexican)? I have a row of shrubs next to my driveway that has to dissappear.
You pull em out, and remove all the shrubs and crap, and the guitar is yours. (in excellent condition, with a hardshell case and strap, also in excellent condition). I've also got a Kustom Solid State Amp that can go with it, if need be.
Hopefully 2012 will be a better year.
