I own a 64 with a 66 top end and use 440 and 460's all day on the job and I can tell you that the 460 is slower then the 066 any day...

The 460 will be more than enough for what you are doing.
460 with 24" bar is very wel balanced and not to heavy for all day cutting .
The 460 will feel like three times the saw the 290 is.
