Someone recently mentioned a good way to re-fuel your stove without smoke coming into the room.It was said to close the front draft and crack the door wait a minute then slowly open the door. The updraft is caused by the door mostly and not interfered by the lower opened draft.I tried this method and it worked beautifully.I never realized this method after six decades of burning wood.Thank you to who ever shared this great method. My wood burning is now more pleasurable than ever before.

I only have one air control but I turn air up all the way for a few seconds. Then unlatch for a few moments until it goes wild and then open it. No smoke spillage.

Usually when I am reloading the stove I'm down to all coals as I tend to burn in cycles so there is no smoke . . . on the rare occasion I add wood mid-cycle my draft tends to be strong enough that there is no smoke leakage into the room. On start up I open the draft and keep the door ajar a bit until the fire gets going in good shape.
