Good Afternoon,

I replaced the Taco 0011-f4 circulator pump yesterday because it started making a lot of noise while running. I shutoff the ball valves on either side of the pump before removing and lost less than a cup of water in the process of replacing the pump.

Question: Should I attempt to purge air from the system? If so I am not clear as to how to get it done. I did view a central boiler video that showed where you connect to your pressurized water supply and then open and close the supply valve and then return valve on the furnace. I don't understand how this would purge air but maybe I am missing something?

Any help would be much appreciated.
