Well , I could tell them what to do with that stick
If you look close you can see some kindling in that picture too
I'm sure it's gone by now......
I see stuff like that here too quite a bit, branches and little junk being called "firewood"; people really are clueless.
lol..... At least its free
I grabbed a broken limb bigger than that off a crab apple that was lying on the sidewalk 4 houses south of me in February.Carried it home, the twigs were kindling, everything else went in a bag for the smoker.
Cub Cadet is fuel up and I am on my way.....
Hey, that might be Hedge; That would last half a year in a Blaze King!
Stay off my tree I am on my way...........That goes for the rest of you wood hounds!
Oh yeah.....I'll get right on this one 15 miles one way for 2 half rotten looks like Silver Maple rounds, barely 1 big wheelbarrow load if you're lucky.
This one is about the same distance, maybe 5 miles further. But at least maybe there's a couple or three decent slabs you could get in a few minutes with not much effort.....
I will grab it, its on the way.
I'm going to start responding to these idiots. Suggest the rest of you do the same.
Well, by your CL standards, this is a downright wood haorders haul:
And this is the stump of the month club (must also take broken strap):
I'm wondering on that first post just how long it would take to season that?
I got a laugh from this one today- http://sacramento.craigslist.org/lbg/3902257008.html.
Sounds great! I can do all the heavy lifting by myself and help her pay for air conditioning, lol.
Firewood Partner Wanted - with splitter (Sacramento)
Hi, I am a disabled woman with a few ideas on how to make money! I have a truck, and a great cart - I see all the time ads for Free Firewood Rounds on Craigslist.
Listen, I can supply the SALES and Marketing Efforts, I have The Personality and the cart to sell firewood SPLIT and DELIVERED by YOU if you are the right person.
And since I am disabled I have the time to be at home to answer calls, schedule deliveries and post ads on Craigslist and handle the accounting side of matters. I already have a valid business license in California.
Here is the ideal match:
1. Must be able to pass a background check - I will pass mine, I expect someone will pass theres too....
2. You must have a place to SPLIT (and have a realiable wood splitter!) and STORE THE WOOD that WE go Get to sell. You see, I no longer have a house - I live in an apartment so Im looking for someone with room (like some young person still living at home with their parents)
3. YOu must have a valid drivers license - and insurance that you can prove to drive my car (I can drive too - Im a good driver)
4. This is assumed, but I must be able to trust you with money - I am looking at this as a fair enterprise - in other words, I would like to partner with people that can do some work in exchange for a fair part of the profits, after our very real (and documented) Expenses. I am very good at keeping records, costs, profits etc.
I dunno. Looks like hardwood, and the rule on this site is 2 years minimum for that!
Hey, you even get a free strap with that stump.....can't go wrong with that deal!!
Hey I have a few bags of garbage......and I will give them to you for free.
That one looks a lot like this one that's been running for a few weeks, no takers yet
Wow, she's got, a great cart !! I want in on this
"Measuring about 21-24 inches diagonal"
How do you measure a split diagonally anyway?
It's going to be 110 today. No one is thinking about buyin firewood
so, let me get this straight......she wants to do a little "pushing" on the phone, and keep track of a couple records. The OTHER partner in the business has to go out and get the wood, bring it to HIS/HER house, process the wood into rounds, SPLIT the wood with HIS/HER splitter, stack and dry the wood at HIS/HER residence, load the wood onto a truck or trailer, deliver it and unload it at the buyer's residence, and they are expected to be fair with the money? Sounds like the lions share of that money should be going to the partner, not the craigslist lady........
That's a unique advertisement, thanks for sharing.....
