Hi, there is another thread going on this same topic. I didn't want to hijack that thread so I started this one. I cannot find the k-factor of my hearth pad anywhere. On it, under it, around it, online, etc. It is made by American Panel and is a 40" polished copper hearth pad. It cost 310.00. Does anyone have a suggestion where I can locate the k-factor? I just want to make sure I also have the proper pad installed. My Harman P43 says a k-factor of 2.24 or lower is required. Here is the copy and paste from the manual:
Material
used for floor protection must have a k-factor of 2.24 or lower.
Example: 1" thickness of Durock® is rated at 1.92 k per inch,
which would meet the requirement.
I am getting paranoid. Just want the family to be safe as I plan on running the stove 24/7. The installer is useless when it comes to finding out information, unfortunately. Any guidance is greatly appreciated. Thank You.
