    Not locust. For sure. I believe it is tuilp poplar. Is there little black "stains" on the splits?

    I got a 4-5' cottonwood to cut down for a buddy of mine in a couple of weeks.Its close to his shop and he wants it gone. Will try to remember to get pics.

    I say Tulip poplar as well. They can get really large here.

    After living in MT and heating with cottonwood exclusively for 7 years, I will have to with cottonwood. it does make fire so split it dry it and call it firewood :)
