The very best thing to put under your tent is a 2 dollar bail of hay/straw, Stop by any farm while on your way and get a bail, open it and lay it down even but with just a hint of a hump in the center. Not only will it keep you dry it is natures carpet and will insulate you. We use this method in the winter and thats when it works best.. One thing keep away the flame!!!!.

We done that in boy scouts, forgot all about it.
