appalachian stoves, any advice?

A local retailer has what seems to be a good buy on appalachian stoves. Specifically, the 36 bw ($1999). This model seems appealing because we may put a fireplace up in the future and this model can be used freestanding or as an insert. I would love to hear from people who have used appalachian stoves and their experiences.

I don't know much about the stove other than previous posts here on the forum. You can find those by searching on Appalachian. While looking at stoves, also take a gander at the Buck 81 which is similarly sized and has the same option for stove or insert.
