Well, did any of you win this week? Looks like I didn't get any notice on winning, hopefully one of our other members has since I didn't!

Congrats Smoke . . . these things work quite well . . . I've already gone and ordered the accessory kit for it so I can clean the whole stove with the horsehair brush (when the stove is cool). It's noisy, but works well.

Well mine showed up yesterday, broken.

Should I attempt a repair or contact Dustless Technologies?

    After all it was free...

I routinely break the handles on my 5 gallon pails and have taken to make my own out of poly pipe. Now, I sleeve the handles on new pails with poly pipe to increase their size for a more comfortable grip.

I'm sure they would send you a new handle.

Its the edge of the lid where it seals to the canister, not a handle.

OK, I see now. The way you held it in front of the handle, it looked like the handle was broken. That does not look like a DIY repair.

They give those away to promote their product and would not want you to receive a defective item. Contact the company and let them know that it was damaged in shipping.
I'm sure they'll replace it immediately.

I got a great deal on the Cougar for less than the Cheetah lists for. It arrived a few days before Christmas. I've used it several times to clean up around the stove and to remove a little bit of ash from the stove but haven't done a thorough clean out yet. Seems to work really well.

I sent an email to the gal that contacted me initially, and asked if I could obtain a replacement part.

Also sent along the same pic I posted earlier.

I'll post the results when notified.

Even being free.. I would still want an intact product. I wanna be the one that breaks it. Not the UPS/Fed-Ex guy (Or someone from Dustless warehouse).

Im still entering every week. Fingers crossed. Wont buy one, but wouldnt mind winning one (Just won a chainsaw in a raffle in Nov, 1st thing I ever won in my life)

I shovel, but in my shop vac I us this. http://www.cleanstream.com/index.html Bought it at Menards. Seriously AWESOME! Drywall sust, cold ash, you name it. They are not lying. It washes out with water and good as new. I have used it for the yearly cleaning of the insert and creosote pile and occasionally on the hearth. With ash it does smell a little if you don't clean it, but no dust shooting out the other end. Best thirty clams I ever spent:)

Well the new one came in today, and its a cougar not a cheetah like was sent originally.

Also appears to not be a reman and they sent along an extra filter and a tool kit!

Can't wait to try it out.

Thanks to Katie8103 for posting the link and Katie at Dustless Technologies for the great service.

I have a loveless vacuum and it is ok. Tends to get clogged very easily and you MUST be careful because warm is used very loosely. Had the plastic that holds the wand in place melt because a "warm" coal got stuck there. It works well provided its not getting clogged. Should either make the wand smaller to only suck up ash or make it bigger to suck up everything.
