I posted a thread some time ago about issues with my auger jamming. I havent really resolved those issues but I think I am going to try replacing the auger motor. I want to replace it with something that will have the best chance to deal with long/harder pellets. I have 2 tons of Corinth pellets that I bought this year that are longer than the Pennington's I burnt last year and are jamming up the auger within 5 minutes of startup. I have read the thread about the Gleason-Avery motors and those sound like they are pretty good. I just have a question I was hoping someone could help with. The gleason has a torque rating of 90(run) and 160(stall), and I looked up the Dayton and it says it has a full load torque of 130. I am not really great with machinery so I was hoping someone could help me determine which would be better for my situation.
On a side note has anyone ever tried to use a wood chipper/shredder to process pellets that are too long?
