Driving buy one of the largest firewood processor/retailers last week and noticed something. The size of the wood splits they are selling differ big time from what I have in the pile. Not length, but girth. Example; they are selling splits that measure 10 inches in total length of sides. Many splits in my pile are over ten inches on one leg of the triangle. Surely it looks like more wood when it is delivered, so good for business, but is that the "norm" for wood splits?
