Have a 50k btu stove in an area that is about 1000 Sq foot. Stove never runs higher than "medium" output and usually on low with about 30 minutes a day on high to clean out the box.

I have a 3 ft horizontal chimney and an OAK. Periodically get black glass and burnpot. Have only burned about 4 bags so far this year, after a detailed cleaning and already it's running a bit dirty.

The only thing I can come up with is it's possibly from starting the stove up 3 or so tI'm es per day as needed.

Any input would be appreciated.

Make/model of stove?

Last time you did a thorough cleaning? Brushed the exhaust?

What type of pellets are you burning? Are they fresh off the truck or from years past?

How long have you had the stove? Did it ever burn clean for you?

Your feed and draft settings?

Burning at low and slow temps will blacken the glass. Pretty normal. The high heat burns more efficiently and less residue etc;

Looks like you have more stove than you need .Running on low is a waste of time and money . Open some windows .
