We went from a Defiant to a Jotul f600. We presently are using a single wall 6"-8" increaser at the stove and the original secure temp 8" dbl wall black pipe from the increaser to the ceiling box - that's the way the installers did it. It works but it looks like crap. We want to connect to the stove using 6" Dbl wall connector and use a dbl wall increaser at the ceiling box. The ceiling box and chimney is made by secure temp. Can you good folks recommend a brand of pipe that will fit our stove and our ceiling box?

We purchased 6" secure temp telescopic pipe and a dble wall increaser from 6" to 8". The dealer told us that that was all we'd need, but the telescopic pipe does not connect to our stove and the increaser doesn't fit around the ceiling box too well - it's short by about an inch because it won't fit around the last bulge from what's coming down from the ceiling box. I hope this makes sense.

The tech help at secure temp were not helpful.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

You'll need a stove adapter to use with your double-wall slip,
& there's usually a trim band to cover the mismatch.
Both should available from the hearth shop you use...
If there's no trim band, you can probably fabricate one from
a piece of sheet metal, some zip screws & Hi-temp paint...

Take a look at an ICC Ultra Black catalog & they're in there...

Basically just clarifying what DAKSY said here...

Whatever brand of Class A you have, the best (and only safe) match up is the same brand of double wall.

Most systems default to adapt to single wall pipe because its basically universal.

The Duravent DVL pipe we use, you use a CC Adaptor to connect the double wall to the support box, and an appliance adaptor to make it fit the stove.

Go back to the shop and tell them exactly what you have. Maybe they will let you see their catalog, or find it online. The catalogs often time give example setups and point out each part you will need, to make it easy for sales people to figure it out. Now only if we could get the salespeople to look at the pictures and READ stuff.

Get the exact model of your class A system if you can, maybe a sticker is still left on the exposed pipe on the roof?
