I know there's getting to be a few Chinook owners out there and hoping to get some feedback from them.
I have a BKK ultra and love it. A friend just spent a few days here and noticed that while the house was nice and warm nobody ever seemed to feed the fire, after a discussion on how that works she has decided a BK is the way to go. The catch is it will be installed in a living space of only about 1,000 sq ft, well insulated, in the Idaho panhandle.
I'm sure either model will be way more than enough and a window will usually be open but wonder if the Chinook does have significantly less BTU output at low burn. They both have about the same sized firebox and BK claims a 30 hr burn for the Chinook and 20 for the Princess which would seem to suggest that. The website shows a low burn output # for the Princess but I don't see the same info for the Chinook. We will make a call to BK but wonder if anybody here with real world experience has some input.
Thanks!
