Question:

My real question is "How do you break in a masonry fireplace properly?" My fireplace has never been used. Can you recommend a book or pamphlet on one?

Answer:

Don't know of any book, but a few small fires are usually all that is needed to make certain that the moisture is driven out of the masonry and the fireplace is correctly cured.
